COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biotechnology program provides students with a comprehensive education in biological sciences, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, analytical science, and biotechnology applications. In the first year, students build strong foundations in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, laboratory safety, scientific problem-solving, and information technology. As the course progresses, learners study genetics, gene technology, cell biology, organic chemistry, analytical techniques, microbiology, and biochemistry while developing practical laboratory and research skills. Advanced modules focus on molecular biology, immunotechnology, applied genetic engineering, environmental biotechnology, quality management, and compliance systems used in regulated scientific industries. Students gain knowledge of recombinant DNA technology, genome analysis, microbial genetics, biotechnology applications in medicine and industry, and the use of modern analytical instruments such as spectroscopy and chromatography systems. The program also develops statistical, technical, and communication skills essential for scientific careers. A major feature of the course is the emphasis on hands-on laboratory training and industry-relevant practices including Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice standards. In the final stage, students complete a professional work placement in a scientific or biotechnology-related workplace, gaining practical experience in regulated laboratory or manufacturing environments. Optional modules in environmental sustainability, bioethics, clinical trials, and industry projects further broaden students’ understanding of biotechnology’s scientific, industrial, ethical, and environmental impact.
