COURSE CURRICULUM

This Mechanical Engineering program provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry-focused learning across four years. In the first year, students develop core competencies in mathematics, engineering science, CAD design, pneumatics, and computing, building a strong foundation for engineering practice. The second year advances technical knowledge in thermodynamics, fluids, mechanics, maintenance, CADCAM, and programming, with a strong emphasis on workshop experience and real-world applications. In the third year, students deepen their expertise in materials, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, automation, and applied mathematics, while also developing teamwork and professional skills through a group project. A key component is a 20-week engineering work placement, allowing students to gain valuable industry experience and apply their learning in a professional environment. In the final year, students undertake an applied research project and study advanced topics such as statistical analysis, project management, and specialised electives. These electives allow students to focus on areas like advanced manufacturing, finite element analysis, renewable energy, building systems, or automation and digitalisation. The program emphasizes problem-solving, design, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring graduates are well prepared for careers in modern engineering industries and capable of contributing effectively to technological and industrial development.
