COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems program is structured over four years, combining electronics, computing, and practical skills development. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in analogue and digital electronics, C programming, electrical technology, mathematics, and engineering science, alongside project work that develops teamwork and problem-solving skills. Year 2 advances knowledge in analogue systems, digital design, microcontrollers, telecommunications, and CAD-based circuit design, while strengthening programming and mathematical abilities through applied projects. In Year 3, students focus on specialised topics such as advanced electronics, digital communications, networking, data acquisition, and embedded systems, alongside object-oriented programming. A key feature is the work placement, which provides valuable industry experience and practical exposure. Year 4 emphasises advanced and professional-level learning, including application development using C#, embedded and real-time systems, advanced communications, and system design and analysis. Students also gain expertise in hardware description languages and digital system design. Statistical analysis and quality control are integrated to support engineering decision-making. The program culminates in a final year project, where students independently research, design, and develop a technical solution relevant to their field. Overall, the course equips graduates with strong technical, analytical, and practical skills for careers in electronics and computing industries.
