COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Engineering program is structured over four years to provide a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry experience. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through modules in electrical installation, basic circuits, engineering mathematics, science, and introductory industrial control, along with professional and energy awareness. Year 2 develops this further with more advanced electrical principles, control systems, mathematics, and design, while introducing networking, industrial installations, and planning of electrical systems. In Year 3, students gain specialised knowledge in power distribution, automation systems, instrumentation, testing, and energy storage, with optional modules in maintenance or network operations. A key component is the work placement in Semester 2, where students apply their skills in a real engineering environment. Year 4 focuses on advanced topics and professional preparation, including a final year project, power systems analysis, automation design, statistical process control, and networking. Students can choose electives such as renewable energy, robotics, or energy management to tailor their learning. The final semester covers protection systems, SCADA, power quality, and advanced data analysis, along with management-focused electives, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for modern engineering challenges.
