COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng in Robotics and Automation Engineering is a three-year program that combines electrical engineering, electronics, programming, industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing systems. In Year 1, students develop strong foundations in engineering mathematics, engineering science, electrical technology, industrial electronics, manufacturing engineering, C programming, and PLC programming. Practical workshops provide hands-on experience in electrical wiring, motor control circuits, fault finding, and manufacturing processes. Students also build professional skills in teamwork, communication, ethics, and project management. In Year 2, the program focuses on automation and control technologies, including process control, electro-pneumatics, industrial instrumentation, PLC programming, industrial electronics, electrical systems, and engineering drawing. Students gain practical knowledge in designing, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting automated industrial systems while strengthening their mathematical and programming abilities. Year 3 introduces advanced engineering topics such as motion control, robotics, manufacturing automation, Cisco IP networking, applied C programming with microcontrollers, advanced PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems, and industrial automation. Students learn to control robotic and motor-driven systems, develop distributed control applications, and solve automation problems in modern manufacturing environments. A work placement module allows students to apply their technical and practical skills in professional engineering settings. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on practical learning, problem-solving, industrial applications, and automation technologies, preparing graduates for careers in robotics, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, process control, and advanced engineering industries.
