COURSE CURRICULUM

The Engineering Technology Management (BEng) program integrates engineering principles with management, operations, and innovation skills to prepare graduates for leadership roles in modern industry. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in mechanical engineering science, mathematics, production technology, CAD design, electrical fundamentals, engineering computing, and introductory management and entrepreneurship. This develops both technical understanding and basic business awareness. Year 2 deepens knowledge in areas such as quality management, regulatory affairs, organisational behaviour, data analysis, fluid mechanics, programming, product innovation, and process design, while also introducing Lean, Six Sigma, and engineering management principles. Students learn how to improve systems, analyse data, and support efficient industrial processes. In Year 3, students complete a major work placement where they apply their skills in a real engineering environment, gaining industry experience and professional competence. The final semester focuses on applied product and process design, digital acquisition, advanced data analysis, engineering materials, and mathematics and statistics, linking engineering design with Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT and smart manufacturing systems. Across all years, the program emphasises problem-solving, innovation, teamwork, and business understanding alongside engineering expertise. Graduates are prepared for careers in engineering management, production, design, quality systems, and process improvement across diverse sectors, combining technical ability with leadership and strategic thinking.
