COURSE CURRICULUM

Business Studies with Beauty and Spa Management is a four-year honours degree that combines academic business education with practical training in beauty, spa, and advanced aesthetic treatments. In Year 1, students build foundations in anatomy, skincare, waxing, makeup, manicure and pedicure, financial accounting, marketing, and professional practice, while also developing academic writing and basic business decision-making skills. Year 2 strengthens technical expertise through massage therapies such as Swedish, Indian head, and hot stone massage, alongside advanced anatomy and physiology, health and safety, HRM, law, marketing communications, and digital tools like social media and business intelligence. Year 3 focuses on applied learning through therapeutic practice, nail technology, wellbeing studies, integrated marketing communications, and a major work placement or study abroad experience to gain real industry exposure. In Year 4, students specialise in advanced business and clinical areas such as financial management, entrepreneurship, research methods, branding, strategic marketing, and aesthetic treatments including microneedling, skin rejuvenation, laser technologies, and microdermabrasion, supported by a thesis or research project. Throughout the program, learners develop both hands-on beauty therapy skills and strong business, management, and entrepreneurial abilities. The course prepares graduates for careers in salons, spas, and aesthetics clinics, as well as leadership or business ownership roles in the growing global beauty and wellness industry.
