COURSE CURRICULUM

This Business Studies with Event Management program combines business knowledge with practical event management skills, preparing students for careers in the growing events industry. The course explores the planning, organisation and delivery of concerts, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, sports events and cultural experiences. Students gain a strong understanding of business management, marketing, accounting, economics, human resources and digital technologies while also developing specialist skills in event planning, event operations, delegate management, event design, production management and project management. Throughout the program, learners work on real events, complete practical event hours and build portfolios that reflect industry experience. Modules in social media, web design, marketing communications and entrepreneurship help students understand modern event promotion and customer engagement. The course also develops leadership, teamwork, communication and problem-solving abilities that are essential in the events sector. Students learn about legal, operational and financial aspects of event management while gaining practical exposure to industry-standard tools and technologies. A full semester work placement or study abroad opportunity in third year allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and improve employability. Graduates are well prepared for careers in tourism, entertainment, hospitality, sports, corporate events and event consultancy, with opportunities to progress to leadership roles or continue to Level 8 honours studies.
