COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Physical Education with Business program combines sport, physical education, science, and business studies to prepare graduates for careers in sport, education, management, and enterprise. It provides a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, movement analysis, exercise psychology, resistance training, nutrition, and sport science, alongside core business disciplines such as management, marketing, accounting, economics, and law. Early years focus on developing practical coaching skills, fitness instruction, digital and statistical literacy, and understanding how physical activity supports wellbeing and health. Students also explore sport development, sport psychology, motor learning, and inclusive physical activity for diverse populations. As the program progresses, learners study advanced topics such as coaching technologies, sports facilities management, health promotion, pedagogy, strategic analysis, and marketing communications, while also gaining insight into sport’s social, cultural, and economic role. A key feature is the integration of business knowledge with sport practice, including entrepreneurship, financial planning, and organisational behaviour. In the third year, students complete a major work placement or study abroad experience, applying academic learning in real-world professional settings. The final year focuses on applied research, curriculum models, adapted physical activity, enterprise planning, and outdoor education, allowing students to specialise and develop leadership capabilities. Overall, the program produces adaptable graduates capable of working across sport, education, health promotion, and business-related sectors, with strong practical, analytical, and managerial skills.
