COURSE CURRICULUM

This BA (Hons) in Physical Education Studies is a multidisciplinary program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in sport, physical activity, health promotion and related business environments. It combines physical education, sport science, lifestyle development, nutrition, management and entrepreneurship to equip graduates with the ability to design and deliver inclusive programs that promote health, wellbeing and active lifestyles across different populations. The program develops both practical coaching and instructional skills alongside academic knowledge in anatomy, physiology, psychology, movement analysis and exercise science. Students also gain strong foundations in business areas such as marketing, human resource management, accounting and strategic management, reflecting the applied and professional nature of the degree. Throughout the course, learners engage in coaching practice, fitness instruction, aquatic activities, sport development and community-based initiatives, with increasing emphasis on advanced coaching, inclusive sport and performance optimisation. A major feature of the program is its focus on real-world experience through a work placement or study abroad opportunity in Year 3, allowing students to apply their learning in professional settings. In the final year, students complete an applied research consultancy project and modules in event management, coaching technologies and curriculum models, alongside specialist study in outdoor recreation and strategic practice. Overall, the program develops graduates who can integrate sport, health, lifestyle and business knowledge to support physical activity and wellbeing initiatives in schools, communities and organisations.
