COURSE CURRICULUM

This Business Studies with Sports Management program combines business education with practical sports management training, preparing students for careers in the sports and business industries. The course develops knowledge in areas such as management, marketing, accounting, economics, law, public relations, leadership and governance while also focusing on sports coaching, health, fitness, nutrition and athlete performance. Students gain practical experience through coaching sessions, sports event planning, community projects, leadership activities and the organisation of real sporting events. Modules in sports administration, sports facilities management, sports psychology, communications and digital technologies help students understand how modern sports organisations operate. Learners also develop important transferable skills including teamwork, decision-making, communication, problem-solving and leadership. The program combines classroom learning with hands-on practical activities such as strength and conditioning, movement analysis, coaching technologies and multi-sport experiences. Students are introduced to business software, web design, accounting packages and digital marketing tools relevant to the sports industry. The course also explores the relationship between sport and society, including issues related to media, culture, community and wellbeing. A full semester work placement or study abroad opportunity in third year allows students to apply their knowledge in professional environments while building industry connections and employability skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in sports organisations, fitness centres, event management, coaching, sports development, marketing and business management.
