COURSE CURRICULUM
The program is structured across three semesters and includes a combination of mandatory and elective modules that allow students to develop both specialised knowledge and broader technological skills.In Semester One, students study several core mandatory modules that build the foundation for advanced engineering and innovation. These include Advanced Mechanics and Material, Professional Communication and Research Methods, and Strategic Technology Innovation. These modules help students strengthen their technical understanding while also developing research, communication, and innovation management skills. In addition to the mandatory modules, students can choose from a range of elective modules such as Control Engineering, Green Technology, Inventive Problem Solving, Nanotechnology, Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs, and Technology Entrepreneurship. These electives allow students to explore specific technological areas based on their interests and career goals.In Semester Two, students continue to expand their technical and professional knowledge through a combination of mandatory and elective modules. Mandatory modules include Biomedical Science, Convergent Technologies, Novel Materials: Properties, Selection and Exploration, Professional Development and Professional Practice, and Technology Management. These subjects focus on understanding advanced technologies, materials science, and professional skills required for modern engineering careers. Students can also select elective modules such as Biomedical Engineering, Cognitive Technology, New Product Development Strategy, and Technology Commercialisation. These electives provide opportunities to explore specialised areas and understand how new technologies are developed and introduced into the market.In Semester Three, students complete an Industrial Dissertation. This research project allows them to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program to a real-world engineering or technological problem. The dissertation provides valuable experience in research, analysis, and problem solving, and it helps students prepare for professional careers in industry or further academic research.In the module structure, modules marked with (M) are mandatory and must be completed by all students, while modules marked with (E) are elective modules that students can choose according to their interests and career objectives.
