COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Computing (Information Systems Processes) is delivered as a full-time program over one year, running from September to September. Students also have the option to complete the program on a part-time basis over a longer period if required. Classes are typically delivered during weekdays from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm. The program consists of a total of 90 credits and provides a structured combination of taught modules and independent research. Students who do not wish to complete the full master’s degree have the option to exit the program earlier with a Postgraduate Diploma in Science in Computing (Information Systems Processes) after successfully completing the required taught modules.During the first year, students study a variety of core and elective modules across two semesters. In Semester 1, students take the core modules Business Process Analysis and Design and Research Methods, which introduce key concepts related to analysing organisational processes and preparing for academic research. In addition, students choose two elective modules from options such as Information Systems Project Management, Socio-Technical Entrepreneurship, and Agile Software Development. These modules allow students to develop specialised knowledge in areas related to project management, innovation, and modern software development practices.In Semester 2, students continue their studies with core modules including Ethics and e-Privacy and Human Centred Systems, which focus on ethical considerations in information systems and the importance of designing systems that meet human needs. Students also select one elective module from options such as Supply Chain Integration Technologies, Design Patterns, or User Experience and Design. These electives allow students to further develop their understanding of digital systems, system design, and user interaction.In the final stage of the program, students complete a Research Project and Dissertation across Semesters 3 and 4. This independent research project enables students to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program to investigate a specific topic related to information systems processes and digital transformation.
