COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Interaction Design offers a combination of core subjects and project work that equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students will study Design Psychology & Framing User Experience, which focuses on understanding human behaviour and applying it to design. Principles of Interaction Design introduces the fundamentals of creating intuitive and effective interactive systems. Design Research Methods trains learners in the techniques required to investigate user needs and evaluate design solutions. Human Interaction Design explores the ways people engage with digital systems, while Prototyping Interactions provides hands-on experience in developing and testing interactive prototypes. Communication Design is delivered online and covers the visual and informational aspects of interaction. The program culminates in the Interaction Project Dissertation, a major project that allows students to apply their learning to a real-world or research-based scenario.This program is delivered by the Department of Humanities at South East Technological University, which promotes an interdisciplinary, design-led approach to research and learning. The blended onsite and online delivery model provides flexibility, enabling students to combine study with ongoing professional work, making it suitable for continuing professional development. The structure ensures graduates are prepared to contribute effectively to interaction design projects in industry or research contexts, with a strong foundation in both practical skills and design theory.
