COURSE CURRICULUM
After completing the program, graduates will have the knowledge and skills needed to work in leadership, research, and advisory roles within child, youth, and family services. They will be able to critically evaluate existing services and programs and contribute to the improvement and development of better service provision in the sector. Graduates will also have the ability to analyse policies, identify challenges within services, and develop innovative solutions that support the wellbeing and development of children, young people, and families. The program is particularly suitable for professionals who are already working in areas such as social care, social work, early childhood education, youth work, and family support services. In addition, it provides new graduates with an opportunity to gain advanced knowledge and a competitive advantage before beginning a career in these fields or pursuing further academic research.During the program, students study a range of core subjects that provide both theoretical and practical knowledge related to child, youth, and family studies. These subjects include Contemporary Issues in Childhood and Youth Studies, which examines modern challenges and developments affecting children and young people. Psychology in Practice focuses on applying psychological principles in real-life professional settings. Perspectives on Family and Society explores the relationship between families, communities, and social structures. Leadership, Strategy and Governance develops skills needed for managing and leading organisations and services within the sector. Students also complete Research Methods and Dissertation, where they conduct independent research on a relevant topic and develop strong research and analytical skills. In addition to the core subjects, students can choose elective modules that allow them to specialise in areas of interest. These include Addiction Studies, Adult and Community Education, Youth Justice Interventions and Practice Approaches, and Children Rights and Child Protection.
