COURSE CURRICULUM

The TV and Media Production program is structured over four years and divided into eight semesters, allowing students to gradually develop creative, technical, and professional skills required in the media industry. In the first year, students are introduced to the basic concepts and practical skills of media production. Modules such as Visual Culture, Introduction to Audio, Introduction to TV Studio Production, and Introduction to Production help students understand the foundations of visual storytelling and media creation. Students also learn about the technical aspects of media through subjects like Principles of Light and Principles of Sound. In the second semester, modules including Writing for the Screen, Introduction to Single Camera Production, Introduction to Post Production, and Media Skills allow students to explore scriptwriting, camera work, editing, and general media techniques. This stage focuses on building essential creative and technical abilities while familiarising students with the production process.In the second year, the program develops more advanced production and technical skills. Students work with television and digital media through modules such as TV Studio Production, TV Producing, and Single Camera Video Production. They also study Graphics and Animation, Web Technology and Video, and Radio production, which help expand their understanding of different media platforms. Additional modules like Shooting and Editing, TV Research and Writing, and Sound for Film teach students how to plan, record, and edit professional media content. These subjects encourage students to work in teams while developing creative storytelling and technical expertise.During the third year, students begin to specialise further in professional media production. Modules such as Motion Graphics, Documentary Making, TV Studio Production III, Production Management, and Cinematography and Post Production allow students to deepen their technical and creative skills. Students also have the opportunity to gain industry experience through options such as Work Placement or a Study Abroad Semester. Other elective modules include Practical Production, Advanced Lighting and Sound Techniques, Production Coordination, and Location Video Production. In the final year, students focus on advanced study and professional development through modules such as Media Culture, Digital Marketing, Media Law, Advanced Editing, and Contemporary TV and Film Analysis. The program concludes with a major final project where students apply their knowledge and creativity to produce a professional media production.
