COURSE CURRICULUM
The four-year Cybersecurity and Cybercrime program equips students with the technical, analytical, and investigative skills needed to protect digital environments and respond to cyber threats. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in programming, networking, computer hardware, mathematics, and operating systems while developing communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring they are prepared for both technical and professional challenges. Year 2 introduces specialized cybersecurity topics, including scripting for cybersecurity, networking with wireless and routing concepts, systems administration, and incident handling and risk analysis. Students also gain practical experience in web programming, databases, and ethical considerations, preparing them to understand both the technological and regulatory aspects of IT security. Year 3 focuses on advanced cybersecurity techniques and cybercrime investigation, covering cryptography, cybercrime legislation and compliance, penetration testing, and automated security practices. Students also have opportunities for work placements, semester abroad, and project-based learning to apply their knowledge in real-world environments. In the final year, learners explore advanced topics such as digital forensics, malware analysis, reverse engineering, secure application development, and enterprise network security. A wide range of elective subjects, including cloud data centers, AI applications, blockchain technology, data engineering, UI/UX design, entrepreneurship, and bias in computational systems, allows students to tailor the program to their interests and career goals. Throughout the course, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional competence, ensuring they can assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective security solutions. Graduates emerge as skilled cybersecurity professionals capable of protecting networks, systems, and sensitive data, investigating cybercrimes, and applying ethical and legal principles in digital environments. This program prepares students for careers in cybersecurity, digital forensics, penetration testing, risk analysis, and other emerging fields where safeguarding information and combating cybercrime are essential in today’s interconnected world.
