COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Software Development program equips students with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience necessary to design, build, and maintain modern software systems. In Year 1, students develop a solid foundation in programming, networking, computer hardware, mathematics, and operating systems, alongside applications and interpersonal communication skills to prepare them for both technical and collaborative challenges. Year 2 builds on these fundamentals with specialized subjects such as systems analysis and testing, object-oriented software development, digital logic, web programming, databases, data structures and algorithms, and discrete structures, while also incorporating a Year 2 project that enables students to apply their learning in a practical context. Year 3 focuses on advanced programming concepts, cloud development, software engineering, advanced data structures and algorithms, and operating systems, providing students with a deep understanding of high-level software design and development. Students also have opportunities for professional exposure through work placements, semester abroad programs, and project-based learning, allowing them to gain real-world experience and industry insight. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and project management skills, ensuring they are ready to work effectively in collaborative development environments.
