COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Buying and Retail Management degree is structured over three years to combine business fundamentals with specialist fashion retail expertise. In Year 1, students are introduced to the core concepts of fashion buying and retail management through modules such as Introduction to Fashion Buying and Retail Management, The Fashion Retail Manager, Retail Marketing, Retail Consumer, Market Pricing for Retail and Services, and The Macro Business Environment. Students also develop essential analytical and professional skills through Statistics and Data Analytics, Basic Excel, and Personal, Professional and Academic Skills 1 and 2. In Year 2, the program deepens industry knowledge with modules including Accounting for Retailers, Enterprise Skills, Introduction to Human Resource Management, Law, Online Retailing, Merchandising, Marketing Research and Fashion Forecasting, Fashion Branding, Advanced Excel, Fashion Buying 2, Employability Skills, and Marketing Mix Decisions. This year strengthens both commercial awareness and practical retail competencies. In Year 3, students enhance their professional experience and strategic understanding by choosing from options such as Retail Work Placement, Retail Study Abroad, or an International Study Trip, each supported by reflective learning logs. Core modules in the final year include Customer Relationship Management, Retail Entrepreneurship, Digital Fashion Marketing, Retail Logistics and Project Management, Fashion Retailing, and Global Fashion Landscape. This structure ensures graduates are equipped with the analytical, creative, and managerial skills needed for careers in fashion buying and retail management.
