COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Cybersecurity and Cybercrime program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience required to protect digital environments and investigate cybercrime. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in programming, networking, computer hardware, mathematics, and operating systems, alongside applications and interpersonal communication skills, ensuring they are prepared for both technical and professional challenges. Year 2 introduces specialized cybersecurity and networking topics, including scripting for cybersecurity, assembly language programming, networking with wireless, routing, and VLAN concepts, and systems administration. Students also gain practical experience in web programming, databases, and incident handling, risk analysis, and ethical practices, preparing them to understand the technological, legal, and regulatory aspects of IT security. Year 3 focuses on advanced topics and real-world applications, including cryptography, networking III, penetration testing, and automated security practices. Students also explore cybercrime legislation and compliance while having opportunities to engage in project-based learning, work placements, and study abroad programs to apply their skills in professional environments. The curriculum blends technical expertise, investigative skills, and legal understanding, allowing students to assess security risks, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective solutions to protect IT infrastructure. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional competence, ensuring they are ready to operate confidently in complex and evolving cybersecurity landscapes.
