COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year agricultural program is designed to provide students with a strong combination of scientific knowledge, practical farming skills, and business expertise. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge in both agriculture and land sciences. Semester 1 includes Introduction to Farm Accounts, Plant Biology, Communication Skills, Computer Applications, Mechanisation and Safety, and Animal Breeding and Welfare. In Semester 2, students study Chemistry for Land Sciences, Agriculture in the Economy, Animal Biology, Animal Production, Agricultural Mechanisation, and Tillage Crop Production. This first year establishes essential scientific understanding, technical competence, and communication skills required for modern farming and agribusiness.Year 2 focuses more on applied agricultural practices and real-world experience. In Semester 3, students study Environmental Science, Crop Technology, Dairy Production, Cattle Production, and Agricultural Soils Management, along with choosing an elective such as Sheep Production or Mechanisation to tailor their learning to specific interests. Semester 4 is dedicated to a supervised placement, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on industry experience and apply their academic knowledge in a professional agricultural setting.In Year 3, the emphasis shifts towards agribusiness, food production, and management. Semester 5 includes Agriculture and Environment, Food Analysis and Animal Feed Biotechnology, ICT and Business Writing, Marketing for Small Business, and Business Management, along with an elective choice between Fabrication or Farm Buildings. Semester 6 further develops professional competencies through Quality Food Production, Food Safety Management Systems, Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Financial Management Systems, Project Research and Design, and Farm Business. Overall, the program integrates science, technology, practical training, and business management to prepare graduates for diverse careers in agriculture and the agri-food sector.
