COURSE CURRICULUM
The Mechanical Engineering program is structured over four years and divided into eight semesters. Each semester includes mandatory modules designed to develop strong knowledge in mechanical systems, mathematics, manufacturing, and engineering design. In Year 1, students learn the fundamental principles that form the foundation of mechanical engineering. In Semester 1, the modules include Computer Aided Drafting, Technical Communications, Engineering Mathematics 1, Mechatronics 1, and Static Mechanics. These subjects introduce students to engineering drawing, communication skills, mathematical concepts, mechanical structures, and the basic principles of mechatronic systems. In Semester 2, students study Engineering Mathematics 2, Mechatronics 2, Dynamic Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics 1, and Workshop Practices. These modules help students understand mechanical motion, fluid behavior, and provide hands-on experience with engineering tools and workshop techniques.In Year 2, the program moves toward more advanced engineering concepts. In Semester 3, students study Manufacturing and Computer Aided Design, Engineering Mathematics 3, Mechatronics 3, Statics 2, and Dynamics 2. These modules focus on product design, manufacturing processes, and deeper mechanical analysis. In Semester 4, students continue with Mechatronics 4, Thermodynamics 1, Engineering Mathematics 4, Materials Science in Engineering, and Dynamics 3. These subjects provide knowledge about heat energy systems, material properties, and advanced mechanical motion.Year 3 focuses on applying mechanical engineering knowledge to real-world applications. In Semester 5, students study Mechatronics 5, Advanced Manufacturing, Fluid Mechanics 2, Engineering Mathematics 5, and Mechanics of Materials. These modules help students understand advanced manufacturing techniques, fluid systems, and the strength and behavior of materials used in engineering structures. In Semester 6, students can choose from several elective options such as Work Placement, Industrial Studies, Development Project in Engineering, Process Instrumentation, Introduction to Systems and Control, and Advanced PLCs. These options allow students to gain practical industry experience or work on engineering projects that develop their professional skills.In Year 4, the final stage of the program focuses on advanced engineering analysis and professional development. In Semester 7, students study Advanced Simulation, Thermodynamics 2, Materials Engineering, Control System Design, and Professional Studies. These modules introduce advanced modeling techniques, energy systems, material design, and control systems used in mechanical engineering. In Semester 8, students study Sustainable Energy, Dynamics Vibration Control, Quality in Manufacturing, and complete a Research Project in Engineering. The research project allows students to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course to solve a real engineering problem, preparing them for professional careers in mechanical engineering and related industries.
