COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering is a full-time, four-year honours degree that equips students with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience required to work at the forefront of the electronics and technology sectors. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in mathematics, computer applications, electrical and electronic fundamentals, programming, engineering science, and technical communication, alongside practical hands-on labs in electronic engineering practice. Year 2 deepens these skills with modules on analogue and digital electronics, electronic communications, embedded systems, satellite and microwave systems, computer programming, and advanced engineering mathematics, providing a balance of theoretical knowledge and applied learning. In Year 3, students further specialize with analysis of analogue circuits, computer networks, digital communications, embedded systems, and engineering mathematics, while having opportunities for work placement, industrial studies, or a study abroad semester, allowing real-world industry exposure. Year 4 focuses on advanced topics such as microelectronic design, hardware description languages, signals and systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, digital systems, and a research project, emphasizing professional practice and innovation. Throughout the program, students gain expertise in designing, testing, and implementing complex electronic systems, combining practical engineering skills with analytical problem-solving and project management. Graduates leave the course prepared for careers in industries including consumer electronics, telecommunications, renewable energy, medical devices, robotics, and advanced R&D, with strong abilities in circuit design, embedded systems, programming, networks, and emerging technologies.
