COURSE CURRICULUM
The Manufacturing Engineering program is structured over three years and is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical engineering skills. In Year 1, students are introduced to the basic principles of engineering and manufacturing. During the first semester, students study subjects such as Electrical Technology, Engineering Professionalism and Technology, Engineering Science, Mechanical and Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Workshop, and Fundamental Engineering Maths. These subjects help students understand the basic scientific and technical concepts used in engineering and also introduce them to practical workshop skills. In the second semester, students continue building their foundation through modules such as Production Technology 1, Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Design, Mechanical Science, Machine Systems, Introductory Calculus, and Materials Technology 1. These subjects develop students’ understanding of materials, machines, and mathematical concepts used in engineering design and manufacturing processes.In Year 2, students begin to explore more advanced engineering topics and develop stronger analytical and technical skills. In the third semester, modules include Mathematical Methods, Engineering Drawing and Design, Applied Computing, Materials Technology 2, Electrical and Control, and Industry Studies. These subjects focus on design principles, computing applications in engineering, and the study of modern materials and control systems used in industry. During the fourth semester, students study Calculus, Applied Engineering, Engineering Design Analysis, Production Technology 2, Fluid Power Automation, and Thermodynamics. These subjects help students understand energy systems, automation technologies, and manufacturing processes that are widely used in modern industries.Year 3 focuses on advanced manufacturing systems, design processes, and practical applications of engineering knowledge. In the fifth semester, students study Engineering Design Process, Process Control, Mechatronics 1, Operations Management, Differential Equations, and Project 1. These modules develop problem-solving skills and introduce students to integrated engineering systems. In the final semester, students complete modules such as Engineering Design Operations, Mechatronics 2, Manufacturing Technology, Robotics and Materials Handling, Dynamics and Control, and Project 2. The final year projects allow students to apply their knowledge to real engineering challenges and gain valuable experience in designing and improving manufacturing systems.
