COURSE CURRICULUM

The Civil Engineering program is a comprehensive three-year course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the core disciplines of civil engineering, including structures, geotechnics, water, highways, and environmental engineering. In Year 1, students develop essential engineering skills through modules such as Engineering Drawing and Information Technology, Engineering Science, Mathematics, Material Science, Surveying and Setting Out, and Civil Engineering Technology. These subjects build the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to approach engineering problems systematically. Year 2 deepens this foundation, with modules in Civil Engineering Drawing, Engineering Mathematics, Structural Design, Soil Mechanics, Quantity Surveying and Estimating, Water Engineering, and Concrete Technology. Students also gain exposure to emerging technologies through Civil Engineering Drawing and BIM, preparing them for modern design and project management processes. Year 3 focuses on applying these skills to real-world civil engineering challenges. Students study Geotechnical Engineering, Highway Engineering and Surveying, Civil Engineering Economics and Management, BIM for Civil Engineers, and advanced Mathematics and Statistics, while working on Structures I and II and completing a Civil Engineering Project. The program emphasizes the integration of theory and practical application, with students engaging in problem-solving exercises, team-based design projects, and laboratory work to test materials and construction methods. Graduates of this program are equipped to design, construct, and maintain critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, buildings, and water systems, with a strong awareness of sustainability and environmental considerations. The course also encourages analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and the development of professional skills necessary to thrive in multidisciplinary teams.
