COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Engineering in Aircraft Systems is a three-year program that equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work effectively in the aerospace and maintenance repair (MRO) industries. The course focuses on the study, operation, and maintenance of aircraft systems, covering critical areas such as avionics, flight controls, electrical power systems, hydraulics, landing gear, propulsion, and aircraft structures. In the first year, students build a foundation in aircraft anatomy and design, avionics fundamentals, aviation science, engineering mathematics, and essential communication and management skills, along with practical aviation engineering practice. The second year emphasizes human factors in aviation, aviation construction materials, mechanics of materials, propulsion systems, and maintenance practices, while integrating project-based learning in both mechanical and avionic domains. In the third year, students deepen their expertise with advanced modules in avionics, electrical power systems, aircraft systems, propulsion, aviation legislation, aircraft structures, and engineering mathematics, complemented by professional development through industrial studies and a development project that provides hands-on experience with real-world aviation challenges. SETU’s on-campus aerospace centre provides a highly practical learning environment with a fleet of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, a modern avionics laboratory, and facilities for testing and analysis. Throughout the program, students develop a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical proficiency, preparing them for the evolving needs of the aerospace sector. Graduates are trained to ensure aircraft safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance, giving them the competence to operate, maintain, and contribute to the design of complex aircraft systems. This combination of practical, theoretical, and industry-focused learning ensures that graduates are well-prepared for careers in aerospace engineering, maintenance, and technical project roles, meeting the high standards required by the aviation industry.
