COURSE CURRICULUM

The Management stream is part of the common entry BBS (Hons) program, where Year 1 and Year 2 modules are shared across all streams, and Years 3 and 4 focus on management-specific learning. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge in accounting, business mathematics, management, statistics, organisational behaviour, human resource management, and microeconomics, while also selecting electives in languages or IT and data analytics. Year 2 develops further business and management skills through modules such as Human Resource Management, Costing, Probability & Operations Management, Career Development Skills, Marketing, Business Law, and electives covering accounting, macroeconomics, international business, and contemporary management topics. Year 3 introduces advanced management concepts, including Financial Management, Leadership & Problem Solving, Management Quality & Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain Management, Applied Quantitative Analysis, and flexible options such as teaching skills, start-up lab, international placement, and work placement. Year 4 emphasizes strategic and leadership competencies with modules like Business Strategy, International Corporate Strategy, Digital Economy, Business & Society, Lean Practice, Developing Leadership Skills, Managing Teams & Diversity, Managing Change & Conflict, and Organisational Design, alongside elective choices. This structure ensures a progression from foundational business knowledge to specialized management expertise, blending practical skills, strategic insight, and real-world experience to prepare graduates for diverse managerial roles, leadership positions, and career advancement opportunities both in Ireland and internationally.
