COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resource Management stream is part of the common entry BBS (Hons) program, with the first two years sharing modules across all streams and the final two years focusing on HRM-specific modules. In Year 1, students build foundational business knowledge through modules such as Introduction to Financial Accounting 1 & 2, Business & Financial Maths, Introduction to Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Microeconomics 1 & 2, alongside electives in languages or IT and data analytics. Year 2 develops further business and HRM skills with modules like Human Resource Management, Costing, Probability & Operations Management, Career Development Skills, Marketing, Business Law, and electives covering accounting, macroeconomics, international business, and contemporary management topics. Year 3 emphasizes applied HRM and practical experience, offering modules such as Resourcing & Talent Planning, Applied Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, Principles of Employment Law, and Design & Deliver Training, alongside flexible options including teaching skills, start-up lab, international placement, and work placement. In Year 4, students focus on advanced HRM strategy and leadership with modules in Business Strategy, International Corporate Strategy, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Employment Law in Practice, and Strategic Human Resource Management, while completing a minor dissertation project and choosing from elective options. This structure ensures a progressive development from foundational business knowledge to specialized HRM expertise, blending practical skills, strategic understanding, and real-world experience to prepare students for professional careers in Human Resource Management and senior management roles.
