COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business and Law degree is structured over four years, combining core business disciplines with comprehensive legal studies and offering flexibility through a wide range of electives. In Year 1, all modules are mandatory and provide a strong foundation in both areas, including Business Financial Accounting 1 and 2, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Quantitative Techniques 1 and 2, Data Analysis for Business 1, IT for Business 1, The Irish Legal System 1 and 2, and Introduction to Law and Legal Research 1 and 2. These subjects develop analytical, numerical, technological, and legal research skills essential for both professions. In Year 2, students study mandatory modules such as Contract Law 1 and 2, Tort Law 1 and 2, and Management 1 and 2, while choosing from electives including Intermediate Financial Accounting, Constitutional Law, Human Resource Management, Business Cost and Management Accounting, Marketing, Taxation, Supply Chain Management, and Macroeconomy of Ireland. Year 3 introduces advanced mandatory modules including Business Finance, Employment Law 1, Contemporary Issues in Human Resource Management, and Capital Taxes, alongside a broad selection of electives such as Corporate Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Administrative Law, Media Law and the Digital Environment, Global Supply Chain Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Work Placement or Study Abroad opportunities. In Year 4, students complete mandatory modules in International Business, Company Law 1 and 2, Strategic Analysis, and Strategic Positioning, with further elective choices in areas such as European Union Law, Consumer Protection Law, Employment Law, Strategic Financial Management, Global Marketing Strategy, Enterprise Development, and Corporate Social Responsibility. This structure ensures graduates gain strong interdisciplinary expertise suitable for careers in business, legal services, compliance, or management.
