COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year program in Tourism and Hospitality Services is designed to provide students with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional abilities needed to work in supervisory roles within the tourism and hospitality industry. The course introduces students to the dynamic and fast-growing global tourism sector, which includes hotels, restaurants, travel companies, airlines, and event management organisations. Throughout the program, students learn how hospitality and tourism businesses operate and how they manage customer service, marketing, operations, and staff within a professional environment. The course combines business and management subjects with specialised tourism and hospitality modules, allowing students to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Students study a wide range of subjects such as communication, management, marketing, tourism studies, accommodation supervision, restaurant service, beverage and wine studies, and front office operations. These modules help students understand how hospitality organisations deliver high-quality service and manage guest experiences effectively. In addition to classroom learning, the program also focuses on practical training through hands-on modules that simulate real hospitality and tourism environments. Students gain valuable experience in areas such as customer service, food and beverage operations, accommodation management, and tourism services. Language electives are also available, which help students communicate with international guests and prepare them for careers in global tourism markets. In the final year of the program, students complete a work placement in Ireland or abroad, where they can apply the knowledge and skills learned during the course in a real industry setting. This practical experience allows students to understand workplace expectations, develop professional confidence, and build industry connections. Graduates of the program are prepared for a wide range of careers in hotels, resorts, restaurants, event management companies, travel agencies, tourism attractions, and airlines. After completing the program, students also have the opportunity to continue their studies by progressing to the final year of a Level 8 honours degree in Hospitality Management, further improving their qualifications and career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.
