COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured over three years and provides a strong foundation in business principles before moving into specialised supply chain subjects. In Year 1, students complete mandatory modules that build core knowledge and skills in areas such as financial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, information technology for business, management theory, business psychology, communications and academic writing, and quantitative techniques. These subjects ensure students develop analytical ability, numerical competence, communication skills, and a solid understanding of how businesses operate. In Year 2, the focus deepens with mandatory modules in cost and management accounting, data analysis, Irish macroeconomics, business law, human resource management, supply chain management, and marketing. Students also have the opportunity to select elective modules such as intermediate financial accounting, business psychology, human resource management 2, or IT for business 2, allowing them to tailor their learning to their interests. In Year 3, students specialise further in supply chain-related disciplines through mandatory modules including ERP System Applications, Business Finance, Operations Management for the Supply Chain, Inventory and Materials Management, and Purchasing and Supplier Management. Alongside these, they may choose from a range of electives such as work placement, a business internship project, study abroad, organisational behaviour, industrial relations, enterprise development, new product innovation, business information systems, or business English. This structure combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing graduates for dynamic careers in supply chain and operations management.
