COURSE CURRICULUM

This program is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in business during the first two years, followed by specialised study in International Business in Year 3. In Year 1, all modules are mandatory and focus on building essential knowledge and skills in accounting, economics, management, communication, IT, psychology, and quantitative analysis. Students study Business Financial Accounting 1 and 2, Communications and Academic Writing, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, IT for Business, Management in Action, Introduction to Management Theory, Business Psychology, Data Analysis for Business 1, and Quantitative Techniques 1 and 2. These subjects develop analytical ability, academic competence, and a broad understanding of how organisations function.Year 2 continues with a comprehensive mandatory core including Business Cost Accounting, Business Management Accounting, Data Analysis for Business 2, Macroeconomy of Ireland, Business Law 1 and 2, Human Resource Management 1, Supply Chain Management, Introduction to Marketing, and Contemporary Marketing Practice. Students may also choose electives such as Intermediate Financial Accounting, Human Resource Management 2, Business Psychology 2, or IT for Business 2, allowing some flexibility while maintaining a solid business framework.In Year 3, students specialising in International Business study key mandatory modules including Organisational Behaviour 1, International Business Culture, Business Finance, and Global Market Assessment and Selection. A wide range of electives allows students to tailor their studies in areas such as Global Marketing Strategy, Global Supply Chain Management, Managerial Economics, Business Information Systems, Contemporary Issues in HRM, and Purchasing and Supplier Management. Students may also opt for Work Placement, Study Semester Abroad, or a Business Internship Project, gaining valuable international exposure and practical experience to enhance career readiness in global business environments.
