COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured over three years, beginning with a strong foundation in core business disciplines before progressing to specialised Human Resource Management subjects. In Year 1, all modules are mandatory and focus on developing essential knowledge and skills in areas such as financial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, information technology for business, management theory, business psychology, communications and academic writing, and quantitative techniques. These subjects build analytical, numerical, and communication competencies that are vital for any business career. In Year 2, students continue with mandatory modules including cost and management accounting, data analysis, Irish macroeconomics, business law, human resource management, supply chain management, and marketing. They also have the opportunity to choose electives such as intermediate financial accounting, business psychology, human resource management 2, or IT for business 2, allowing them to begin tailoring their studies to their interests. In Year 3, students specialising in Human Resource Management complete mandatory modules such as Organisational Behaviour 1, Employment Law for Human Resource Management 1, Contemporary Issues in HRM, People Management Functions, and Applied Human Resource Management 1, gaining in-depth knowledge of managing employees, workplace relations, and strategic HR practices. A wide range of electives is also available, including work placement, a business internship project, study abroad, corporate finance, global supply chain management, marketing for services, operations management, enterprise development, and business information systems. This flexible structure combines theory with practical experience, preparing graduates for professional roles in human resource management and related business fields.
