COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in International Business is structured over four years, combining core business education with international, cultural, and strategic expertise. In Year 1, students develop foundational knowledge through modules such as Introduction to International Business, International Business, Introduction to Management, Organisational Behaviour, Introduction to Statistics, Business and Financial Maths, Economics of the Market, Macroeconomic Environment, and IT and Communication Skills 1 and 2. Students also select electives such as Introduction to European Societies, Introduction to World Societies, or a Language module, encouraging global awareness from the outset. In Year 2, the program deepens international understanding with modules including European Union Introduction, Intercultural Business Context, Introducing Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management, Introduction to Business Law, International Trade Law, Financial Accounting for Non-Specialists, Introduction to Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Management Decision Making. Elective choices such as Global Economy, Career Management, Management Skills, Who are the Irish?, or Language allow further personalisation. Year 3 consists entirely of International Placement 1 and 2, where students spend a full academic year abroad studying or completing a work placement, gaining invaluable global experience. In Year 4, students focus on advanced strategic and global subjects including Business Strategy, International Business Sales, International Institutions, International Political Economy, New Business Creation, Global Business Ethics, Supply Chain Management, International Human Resource Management, International Finance, and International Corporate Strategy. Additional electives such as Digital Economy, Leadership and Problem Solving, Managing Change and Conflict, Small Business Management, International Marketing, ERP System Skills, or a Minor Dissertation provide further specialisation, preparing graduates for global careers.
