COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year Sport Coaching and Business Management (Football) program is designed to give students a strong foundation in sports coaching, player development, and business management within the context of football. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on learning across multiple environments including classrooms, gyms, and pitches.In Year 1, students develop core skills in coaching pedagogy, football player development, applied anatomy and sport physiology, coach education, sport management principles, and information technology. They also learn professional writing and research skills relevant to modern sports contexts, while gaining an understanding of accounting and financial practices in sport.Year 2 builds on these foundations with advanced modules in football coach education, player development, sports marketing, sports economics, finance for sport, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention and recovery strategies. These modules emphasize both practical coaching skills and the management of football organizations, preparing students to work effectively with teams, clubs, and sporting bodies.Year 3 emphasizes professional development and workplace experience. Students study people management in sports, fitness testing and load monitoring, sponsorship in sport, and advanced finance concepts, while also completing elective modules such as coach education, player development, operations management, sports performance analysis, and data analysis. This year includes a work placement or internship project, giving students real-world experience, and the option to study a semester abroad to gain international exposure in sports management and coaching practices.The program equips graduates with the knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in football coaching, sports administration, club development, and performance analysis. It is suitable for students of all playing and coaching abilities and integrates both academic and professional development to prepare graduates for employment in the growing football and sports industry.
