COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Engineering Artificial Intelligence is structured around a set of core modules designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications in engineering contexts. Core modules include Principles of Artificial Intelligence, Programming for Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, Data Governance, Ethics and Sustainability, Engineering and Evaluating Artificial Intelligence Systems, Intelligent Agents and Process Automation, Decision Analytics, Machine Learning, Explainable and Emerging AI Technologies, and a Research Elective. These modules equip students with technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to design, implement, and evaluate AI systems effectively.Students also have the opportunity to undertake a Practicum or an Internship, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and practical exposure in professional environments. This applied component ensures that graduates are not only theoretically proficient but also industry-ready, capable of addressing real-world challenges using AI solutions. Elective modules are available depending on student interest and sufficient enrolment, allowing for flexibility and further specialisation within the program.The assessment strategy blends continuous evaluation and examinations, typically with 50% of the grade derived from project work, assignments, or other continuous assessment methods, and 50% from formal exams. This approach ensures that students are tested on both their understanding of theory and their ability to apply knowledge in practical contexts. By combining rigorous coursework, applied learning, and a structured assessment methodology, the program prepares students to demonstrate technical competence, ethical awareness, and research capability, all essential qualities for leadership roles in the evolving field of Engineering Artificial Intelligence.
