COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) in Accounting and Finance at National College of Ireland is a three-year honours undergraduate degree, with the option to extend to four years by completing a work placement. The program is delivered over six semesters and combines continuous assessment throughout the academic year with formal examinations at the end of each semester, ensuring consistent academic engagement and performance evaluation.Students who achieve an overall average of 70 percent or higher in any academic year are awarded a Dean’s Award, recognising academic excellence and strong performance. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive a QQI BA (Honours) Degree in Accounting and Finance at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications, providing a nationally and internationally recognised qualification.Students who complete the Career Management Skills module and meet specified grade criteria may be eligible, subject to availability, to undertake a structured work placement in the third year. Those who complete this placement graduate after four years with a total of 240 ECTS credits. The placement option provides valuable practical experience, enhances employability, and allows students to apply their academic knowledge within a professional accounting or finance environment before entering the workforce or pursuing further studies.
