COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Education program is a one-year full-time course in which students complete a total of 90 credits through a structured combination of compulsory and elective modules. All students are required to complete three core modules, namely Critical Reflections on Education, Global Issues in Education and Research Methods, each worth 10 credits. In addition, students must undertake the Educational Capstone Project, a major 30-credit component completed in the final stage of the program, which allows them to apply research skills to a focused educational topic. Research Methods must be taken in the same year as the capstone project to ensure students are well prepared for independent research. Alongside these compulsory elements, students choose three optional modules from a curated list, enabling them to tailor their studies to specific interests such as anthropology of education, trauma-informed care, universal design for learning, education and conflict, or independent learning modules. The program also offers exemptions for students who have completed certain prior qualifications, allowing them to skip up to 20 credits of optional modules. Overall, the course combines theoretical knowledge, research training and practical exploration, helping students build a deeper understanding of education in diverse and global contexts while developing critical and analytical skills.
