COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA program is designed to be flexible, innovative and focused on experiential and field-based learning, enabling students to develop strong ethical research skills and practical competencies for employment. Teaching is delivered through small-group seminars, collaborative and project-based learning, guest lectures, workshops and immersive fieldwork experiences, encouraging active participation and real-world engagement. The degree consists of 90 credits and can be completed in one year full-time or two years part-time. Students complete 70 compulsory credits, which build core skills in field methods, spatial thinking, theoretical understanding and applied research in spatial justice. A key component of the program is a 30-credit independent thesis, allowing students to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice related to spatial justice. In addition, students choose 20 optional credits, including at least 10 credits in geography, with the remaining credits available from related disciplines such as anthropology, law, media studies and sociology. Assessment is based entirely on continuous evaluation, using diverse formats such as essays, research journals, mapping projects, blogs, videos, field reports and presentations. Overall, the program combines academic knowledge with practical application, preparing students with interdisciplinary skills and hands-on experience for careers in research, policy, community development and related fields.
