COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences program is structured over four years and focuses on developing a strong understanding of human performance, health, and physical activity. In first year, students study Sport and Exercise Sciences, Biology, and Mathematics, along with one additional science subject, although Computer Science is not available. This stage provides a broad scientific foundation and introduces key principles related to the human body and exercise. In second year, students concentrate more specifically on Sport Science and Biology, deepening their knowledge of how the body responds to exercise and physical training, while also having the option to take a 10 credit elective to broaden their academic experience. In third year, the focus shifts primarily to Sport Science and Health, with students developing more advanced understanding of performance, fitness, and wellbeing. During the second semester of this year, students may take part in a work placement or other experiential learning opportunities, depending on availability, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. In the final year, students study advanced topics in Sport Science and Health and complete a capstone research project, which allows them to investigate a specific area of interest in depth. Overall, the program combines theory, practice, and research to prepare graduates for careers in sport, health, and exercise-related fields.
