COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Physics with Astrophysics program is a structured four-year degree designed to give students a strong foundation in physics while specialising in astrophysics. In first year, students study Physics with Astrophysics and Mathematics as core subjects, along with two additional science subjects chosen from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Science, or Mathematical Physics, although certain combinations are restricted due to timetable constraints. This stage provides a broad scientific base and introduces key concepts across multiple disciplines. In second year, students continue with Physics with Astrophysics and carry on with two of their first-year subjects, focusing more deeply on one full subject and a second worth 10 credits. They may also choose an optional elective or critical skills module. In third year, students continue with Physics with Astrophysics and one of their second-year subjects, allowing for increased specialisation and deeper understanding. In fourth year, students focus entirely on Physics with Astrophysics, engaging in advanced study of the subject. Throughout the program, students build strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills while gaining a detailed understanding of physical laws and astrophysical phenomena. Overall, the degree prepares students for careers in science, research, and related technical fields.
