COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Data Science program is structured over four years and combines Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics to develop strong analytical and computational skills. In first year, students take a specialised Data Science subject alongside core modules in Computer Science and Mathematics, as well as one additional subject from options such as Engineering Science or further Computer Science, providing a broad technical foundation. In second year, the focus shifts to deeper study of Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics, strengthening students’ understanding of data analysis methods, programming, and mathematical principles. In third year, students specialise further by concentrating on Statistics and Computer Science, allowing them to develop more advanced skills in data modelling, algorithms, and statistical reasoning. In fourth year, students continue with Statistics and Computer Science at an advanced level and complete two capstone projects, which provide an opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world data science problems. These projects help students demonstrate practical skills in data handling, analysis, and problem-solving. Overall, the program is designed to build strong expertise in data-driven thinking, preparing graduates for careers in data science, artificial intelligence, analytics, and other fields that rely on advanced use of data and computational techniques.
