COURSE CURRICULUM

This interdisciplinary degree integrates Business and Global Cultures to provide students with a unique and well-rounded education that prepares them for the complexities of working in a global business environment. In the first year, students begin by studying the fundamentals of Business through the Management stream, alongside core modules in Global Cultures. These initial studies introduce essential business principles such as value creation, customer focus, and organisational dynamics, while also offering insights into cultural systems, global diversity, and societal trends. This combination sets the stage for understanding how businesses can operate effectively across varied cultural and international contexts.In the second year, students continue to deepen their knowledge of both Business and Global Cultures. The Business modules explore core functions such as strategic planning, operations, and innovation management, while Global Cultures modules examine pressing global topics such as sustainability, urbanisation, digital society, and cultural consumption. Students may also choose an elective stream, allowing them to explore an additional area of interest and broaden their academic experience. During this year, some students may opt to arrange a work placement or study abroad opportunity to take place between second and third year, extending the degree to four years and enhancing employability.The final year focuses on applying knowledge in advanced contexts. Business modules encourage strategic thinking and problem-solving at a managerial level, while Global Cultures modules allow for deeper exploration of the social, cultural, and political dimensions of global engagement. Students integrate business knowledge with cultural understanding, preparing them to navigate the diverse challenges of international business environments. By the end of the program, graduates are well equipped with critical thinking, cross-cultural awareness, and practical skills that are in demand in today’s interconnected global economy.
