COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Social Science degree is structured to provide a strong foundation in the first year followed by focused specialisation in the second and third years. In first year, all students study core subjects including Social Policy, Sociology, and Critical Skills for Social Sciences, which develop essential analytical, research, and academic skills. In addition to these, students choose one subject from Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, or Philosophy, allowing them to begin shaping their academic interests early on. This combination ensures a broad understanding of social issues alongside the development of critical thinking abilities. In second and third year, students continue with Social Policy as their core subject and combine it with the subject they selected in first year, forming a double major structure. This allows for deeper study and greater expertise in both areas. Students also have the option to take a 10-credit elective in second year, providing further flexibility to explore additional topics or interests. Overall, the program offers a balanced mix of core knowledge and personal choice, enabling students to gradually specialise while maintaining a strong understanding of social science perspectives and approaches.
