COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management is structured to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices and management within the tourism and hospitality sectors. In Stage 1, Semester 1, students engage with core modules including sustainable tourism and regenerative planning, strategic services marketing for the tourism industry, smart revenue and performance management, tourism feasibility and economic analysis, and contemporary trends and tourism concepts. These modules provide foundational knowledge in both strategic and operational aspects of sustainable tourism. In Semester 2, all modules are assessed through work placement, allowing learners to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. These modules include leadership in organisations, business research methods, sustainable development in tourism projects, and event project management and planning. Students may also choose electives such as air transportation and tourism or the psychology of consumer behaviour, enabling them to specialise according to their career interests. The program culminates in a research dissertation, an MSc dissertation, or a dissertation by practice – industry report, which allows students to explore a specific area of sustainable tourism or hospitality in depth, often in collaboration with industry partners. This practical and research-led approach ensures graduates are well-prepared for leadership roles in sustainable tourism, capable of implementing innovative, responsible, and commercially viable strategies in the industry.
