COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Adolescent Studies program is structured through a series of carefully designed modules that aim to develop advanced knowledge, research capability, and professional practice in the field of adolescent development and youth studies. The program consists of several mandatory modules, each carrying European Credit Transfer System credits, with a strong emphasis on both theoretical understanding and practical application. Key modules include Critical Perspectives on Child and Youth Development, which explores major theories and contemporary debates surrounding the growth and development of young people, and Research Methodologies and Design, which equips students with the skills required to design, conduct, and evaluate academic research. Students also study Interventions and Models of Care in Adolescent Practice, focusing on effective support strategies and services for young people, and Governance and Professional Leadership in Child and Adolescent Practice, which develops leadership skills and an understanding of policy, ethics, and professional responsibilities. Contemporary Discourses in Youth Studies examines modern social, cultural, and policy issues affecting adolescents. The program also includes a practicum module that allows learners to gain practical experience and apply their knowledge in real-world settings. A major component of the program is the dissertation, which carries the highest credit value and requires students to undertake independent research under academic supervision.
