COURSE CURRICULUM

The LL.M. in International Law at Griffith College is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in core areas of international legal practice while allowing students to tailor their studies through a wide range of electives. In the first semester, all students engage with core modules including Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Law of International Organisations, International Commercial Law, and International Human Rights Law, developing essential skills in legal analysis, research, and application. In the second semester, students can choose from a diverse selection of elective modules to focus on specialised areas that align with their career goals or academic interests. These electives include Corporate Governance, International Commercial Arbitration, EU Market and Competition Law, International Financial Services Law, International Tax Law, and International Intellectual Property Law, as well as topics in human rights and criminal justice such as Gender, Sexuality and Human Rights, International Asylum and Immigration Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Restorative Justice, Criminology, Social, Economic and Environmental Rights, and International Privacy and Data Protection Law. This flexible structure enables students to develop both a broad understanding of international law and targeted expertise in specific domains, equipping them with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical competencies needed to excel in legal, governmental, or international careers, or to pursue further research at the doctoral level.
