COURSE CURRICULUM

The LL.M. in International Human Rights Law at Griffith College offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with both foundational knowledge and specialised expertise in human rights law. In the first semester, students focus on core modules such as Advanced Legal Research and Writing, the Law of International Organisations, and International Human Rights Law, which establish the essential theoretical and analytical skills necessary for advanced legal study. In the second semester, learners choose from a range of elective modules that allow them to tailor their studies to specific areas of interest, including Gender, Sexuality and Human Rights, International Asylum and Immigration Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Restorative Justice, Criminology, Social, Economic and Environmental Rights, and International Privacy and Data Protection Law. This structure ensures that students develop a deep understanding of both the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of human rights law in diverse international contexts. The program equips graduates with highly transferable skills, including research, analysis, and critical thinking, which are valued across legal, governmental, and non-governmental sectors.
