COURSE CURRICULUM

The LL.M. in International Criminal Justice at Griffith College is a specialised program designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in international law, criminal justice, and human rights. In the first semester, students focus on core foundations including advanced legal research and writing, the law of international organisations, and international human rights law, developing the analytical and practical skills required to engage with complex legal issues. The second semester expands into specialised areas such as gender, sexuality and human rights, international asylum and immigration law, restorative justice, criminology, social, economic and environmental rights, international privacy and data protection law, international criminal law, and international humanitarian law, allowing students to tailor their studies to their specific interests within the field. Throughout the program, learners benefit from small class sizes and personalised guidance from experienced academics and professional practitioners, fostering deep understanding and practical competence. In the third semester, students complete a dissertation, synthesising their learning through independent research on a topic of their choice. Beyond academic knowledge, the program develops essential professional skills, including communication, leadership, and teamwork, preparing graduates for careers in international law, human rights organisations, NGOs, and other global legal environments, while also providing a pathway to further research such as a PhD.
