COURSE CURRICULUM

The LL.B. (Hons) in Criminal Justice program is structured across three stages, providing students with a strong foundation in law while gradually developing advanced knowledge and specialised skills. In Stage 1, students are introduced to the fundamentals of legal education through modules such as Introduction to Law and Legal Skills, Information Technology Skills, Law of Tort, Law of Contract, and Criminal Law. These subjects build essential knowledge of legal systems, legal reasoning, and core areas of law. In Stage 2, the program expands into more complex legal fields, including Land Law, Company Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and Law of Evidence. Students also study Professional Research Practice and Advocacy, which strengthens their legal research and courtroom skills. Additional optional subjects such as Public International Law, Intellectual Property Law, Revenue Law, International Human Rights Law, and Law and Ethics in Healthcare allow learners to explore different legal specialisations. In Stage 3, students focus on advanced and specialised topics while applying their knowledge through research and practical experience. Core modules include Equity and Trusts, Law of the European Union, Jurisprudence, Criminology, and a Dissertation. Students can also choose from a wide range of electives such as the Innocence Project, Miscarriages of Justice, International Commercial Law, Environmental Law and Sustainability, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Peace and Reconciliation, preparing them for diverse legal careers.
